Hello everyody,
I am the new owner of Bayou Lafourche Knifeworks. These plans have been on the drawing board for quite a while and I am looking forward to it and hope the transition goes well. I have known Roger for about 2 1/2 years and have bought many knives from him. When i had the oppurtunity to get into the knife business, i jumped on it. I had many discussions with Roger about new ideas and plans for the business before I had the oppurtunity to buy it. I plan to implementsome of these ideas and take B.L.K. in a new direction.
Unfortunately, I have a full-time job so i won't be around to answer the phone until 5:00 P.M. or so, but I will have an anwering machine and will promptly return calls if needed. A secure server for online ordering will be added to help offsetthe limited phone hours.
The major change in the business is creating a "buyer's club". There will be a yearly membership fee and as a member, you will be able to purchase knives CHEAP. If you buy more than 3 or 4 knives a year it will be well worth the membership fee.
(a non-member section will still be available to the public for purchases at the usual prices)......
I am doing this for two reasons. First, I just think it is a good idea. With the number of knives i have bought in the past, a club like this would have saved me a bunch of money. The second reason i due to current market trends. Manufacturer influenced pricing, such as minimum advertised pricing and in some cases minimum pricing to even sell products for, to be specific.
The website will be up soon, but not by MARCH 1st. A backlog of work is creating slow progress from the internet company, and a lot of this stuff is new to me too.
Please bear with me untili get up to speed, a new notice will be posted on the homepage too. I hope this proves to be a good move for Bayou Lafourche Knifeworks !
Thank You,
Shannon Wood
