I just got my knives which were available to BCC members from John Lentz.
First, let me say thanks to John for taking on this responsibility, and express my regrets at the passing of Paul.
The knives are beautiful! I got the BGF-42 Strider Spearpoint (ony 17 others took up that offer??). What a solid knife! It renews my faith in Buck's ability to make a solid liner lock, I only wish my Tac-Lite locked up so well! My only complaint is I don't think Buck could have made a more right-handed knife if they had tried! I tried flipping the thumb stud around, but I can't budge it. When I had the hex wrench in Vice-grips, and the head of the stud in a pair of pliers, and I still couldn't move it, I figured someone much mightier than I had screwed it down. I left if for another day.
The dagger is smaller than I envisioned it, but absolutely beautiful. I could really see wearing this in a horizontal sheath on the small of my back, simply as a small utility knife. It's a nice shape for general small use, and the damascus is gorgeous.
The Chuck Buck signature is also a great design for a knife. As a small fixed blade it is well balanced and quite comfortable, and the balde shape is excellent for what I look for. A littlye file work on the back of the blade would make it ideal. I noticed that the cover letter said it was made of BG-42, but my blade is stamped ATS-34, which seems odd. I don't remember which was indicated when I ordered the knife.
Nice knives, Buck. I think both the dagger and the Chuck Buck signature would be great additions to your regular line. I'm thrilled to have all three with my member number on them!
