We are a third of the way into 2015. Has anyone heard if there will be a BCCI member discount program this year?
I've been holding off on purchases waiting to see what will be offered.

Why wait? BCCI lifetime members can order from LO anytime and beat the BCCI factory discount! Plus you are not limited to two items which the factory usually does.

Example #1: All BCCI factory discounts that I have ever seen are 40% off, so on a $100 knife, the price would be $60 plus shipping.

Example #2: LO charges BCCI lifetime members 50% of the selling price plus 10%, so a $100 knife is $55 ($50 plus 10% [$5]) plus shipping.

Tin, crunching the numbers it looks to me from your example the knife should cost, 50$ plus 10%= 45$ plus shipping. DM

You are incorrect on the discount. You have your numbers reversed. The BCCI discount is 60% so you end up paying 40% of MSRP and factory shipping is free over $50. LO's discount is 45% plus shipping which always adds another $15. I do order my LE's from LO since those will never be on the website.

Don't forget that some states are also charged State tax's when buying from the factory!

Buck also gives a 50% military discount to active duty and veterans. I believe it's limited to two knives a year.

Last year BCCI members received an email that contained a PROMO CODE that was to be applied to an online order to receive the BCCI discount. If you saved that email the PROMO CODE will work this year too. At least mine still works. (Perhaps as long as you remain a member in good standing??) The discount is applied when you place your order. It appears the limit is 5 products - knives, sharpenings, Buck stuff, etc. The discount is better than LO (if I am interpreting the initials correctly).

(I hope this post didn't violate any forum rules)>

I still have that code. Have you used more than once? Do I need to make sure I order all 5 items at once or can I split say 3 now and 2 later?

I've previously inquired about this subject to both Larry Oden (BCCI officer) and to Joe Houser (BUCK liason to BCCI) and neither had any information.

seriously someone just say what LO is the sky won't fall, honest

I'm thinking that "LO" somehow might refer to ordering knives from a source other than Buck's web site. Perhaps ordering through BCCI; for instance.

OK, To answer talking in code. We have sort of developed this "code" to get around Bladeforum rules on buying and selling. How many have actually read BladeForum rules. Or BF......I have to every once in a while just to remember. I think it is at top of the page under Forum Home.

In Code Ebay is "the bay". There are several others, but they are usually associated with someone or some company that buys and sells. You can talk freely about the Buck for sale area at the top of this forum. But, just be careful about pointing out costs of knives in other areas.

LO - means Larry Oden, it is his buying and selling code name because he has a knife selling company. So, if you want to talk about Larry Oden the Vice-President of BCCI and Buck knife (BK) collector you can say Larry Oden. But, if you are talking about him in the sense of buying a knife from him you say LO and lots of people figure out you mean Larry Oden. Even doing this stuff we are really close to the edge of BF rules ( Blade Forums). The world is clear as mud. FYI............Cheap made knives are coded C.R.A.P.
