Hi all,
Elgin Thomas is one of the founding members of the BCCI and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the club. Elgin is a good natured warm hearted person who has contributed much to the club. He is a great friend. Right now, Elgin is in the hospital needing heart surgery. He has several blockages and only one of the four chambers of his heart is working properly. He has several choices to make regarding surgery. He can opt for open heart surgery which will give him long term benefits but higher risks. Or he can go the less risk route that will only serve him well for several years. I spoke with Elgin on Sunday and his spirits were extremely well. I ask that you all include Elgin in your prayers. Thanks.

My prayers are with Elgin. He is one of the nicest men I have had the pleasure to meet. I remember Elgin meeting me at the door and helping me get settled in for my first time to display at the Blade Show. It was also my first time to display anywhere!! He was so friendly and helpful, I decided right then and there I had gotten involved with a great group. Guess what? It has been five years and I still feel the same. I will also say that the BCC is full of people like Elgin. What a neat group of knifenuts!

My sincere wishes go to Elgin, his lovely wife Vonta and family, I am sure with all the prayers and today's skilled surgeons that he will fare well. I can realy feel for them as my wife, Nardi just had an emergency 3 way by-pass april 9th. She is doing well now, but still a ways to go.

Frank,
I trust that your wife is doing well. I will remember her and Elgin in my prayers. Surgery can be a scary thing, but it helps to know there is a bunch of support behind the scenes.
Take care,

I received an update on Elgin this morning. He had open heart surgery yesterday. The surgery lasted six hours and was successful. They took veins from his arms to do the bypass. This is his third open heart surgery to date. Thanks for all your support and prayers. I will let Elgin know about your support.

I've heard from Frank that his wife is doing well! She should be back to yelling at him for buying too many knives as we speak.

Glad to hear all the good reports. I will pass this on to dad as well. I have to print it cause he does not check email.

We had his 65th birthday party in May (the 13th) and we kept it a surprise while getting the entire company involved. He asked me how we coordinated it without him finding out and I told him we did all communciation about the party on email.

It was a 50's theme and went great.
