Just got a Buck factory email saying if you want to use you discount for a upcoming birthday, graduation, etc. knife order using your BCCI member 2 knife discount you better do so quick. Deadline July 7.

They are reworking website and you will be out of luck till new website goes online at end of July.

You will likely get same email but here you go, F Y I

300

Yep, got that email, and now I have questions.....

Will the discounts remain the same.
If you use your discounts now, when the new site is active, do the discounts start all over, or does the new site reflect previous purchases?

I was waiting to see if the knives I wanted became listed, one has, the other has not......

I'm on the fence. Order now before the change in case prices go up or program is modified. Or, wait till afterwards and more knives are available.

Not sure which way to go.

I am not sure, but the wording of the email suggests to use the current discounts now, because the new program would be a whole new enrollment with all new discounts???

Dangit.....now I need to budget all this into the next couple weeks :(

I just received a parcel from BKI today. :)

No knives, just 110 50th anniversary goodies.

I do have to say that I am extremely happy to see their old website going away.
Never did like the way it worked. I would always think of the sales they must have lost on the old site because it was hard to navigate.

Can't wait to see the new website!!

Anything I say is likely just my own BS. But, surely they are only changing the web design and makeup not any of the club stuff. Maybe how we sign in and out. The other stuff is just talk on our part..

They would have contacted the officers and no one said a thing during meetings. You can call me SOB if I am wrong but I haven't used mine and won't till later, not worried on discount change. One year I never used it at all. 300

The 50th stuff, hat, pullover, t-shirt and water bottle are tempting Stumps.

I sure hope that a 50th coffee mug is in the works. I would like that.

While looking for a Buck wooden box I noticed this branded 55 with oak scales and was blown away by how nice it looked. It made me go and build a 501 with oak and studs in the custom shop. Exciting possibility.

The 55:

Me blown away:

Excitement:

Went ahead and used my two knife discounts for a Thug and CSAR-T as well as a couple of my other discounts for the tool kit for the CSAR-T and a new Buck cap.

Just wanted to add that my order has already shipped. Ordered 6/17, shipped 6/18. Go Buck!!

I am thinking I will use mine too.
I really like my CSAR-T fixed blade, but I do wish I had waited a few months and gotten the new version with 154CM steel.
I also want the thug. Do you know if it is the older hollow grind, or the new flat grind version that they are sending you??
They other one I want to order is the Kalinga :)

No idea. The photo on the Buck website still shows the high hollow grind.

If it is the 690 you are talking about I just got one from Buck; with 154cm steel; I don't know the difference on the grinds. With BCCI discount it was $74.00 .

The catalog lists the Thug as having a new flat grind for 2014....
I called Buck a few minutes ago to see if the new or old model is in stock, the gal in sales did not know, but went to find out.
The people who would know are in a meeting, so she took my name and phone #.
Hopefully she calls back soon!

On an interesting note, while I was on hold, the recording was talking about the new ecolite 110 and 112....which we know has b3en discontinued....lol

My 2013 model 690 has a little bit of hollow grind in the part above the edge, not a lot, but just a little, and only in the belly section.
The tip section looked and felt like flat grind.
When I looked to check for that, it was almost hard to tell.

Hollow grind is when the sides of the blade are concave. (Simplified explaination)
Flat grind is when the sides are flat.
I probably should have put on my reading glasses ;)

Used discounts today for a 070 Thug, coarse diamond benchstone, and a hat :)
Going to squeeze the budget to fit in a Kalinga, medium diamond benchstone, and another hat, before July 7th
There are a couple sheaths I would like too......
