I stumbled upon Bushcraft USA last night, while I was battling some insomnia. I found their tarps to be a decent bargain for the materials/size. They do sell Sil-Nylon tarps, but can get quite pricey. I wanted another tarp to stash in my "get home bag" that stays in my vehicle, so I went with the MEST - SAR Variant.

It's 5'x7' and weighs 6.25oz, made from Sil-Nylon. Not too shabby for $50.

Have any of you guys used their other tarps? I'm waiting till this one arrives, before I invest in one of their larger tarps.

I have been trying to score a coyote colored 12'x10' for a while - they sell out fast - but got tried of waiting and just bought a Chinook tarp. Was surprised by the quality of the Chinook. Still want a big BCUSA tarp - Enjoy yours.

I have a 5x7 in coyote brown. Very nice for the money. Note that in reality it is about 4'-8" x 6'-8" so it is best a short term tarp, which like you, is why I got it. It folds very compactly. It seems my sil-nylon tarps never fold tightly like regular nylon ones do.

I have a brown MEST and a 10x10 UltraLight from them. They are my primary shelter option for most situations.
