how does a Bura Dui-Chirra differ from a Foxy-Folly? they both have similar handles, and both by double fullers yah?

This person has posted exactly twice at BF - each time, in effect, bill me as usual.

they might have sent the exact same text via email, and just cut and paste it here, rather than write a second message saying in effect "claimed"...

but hey, if it works, this guy has 4 kukris now. new shark. yar.

Hi guys!
Yes, I am the new boy on the block (shark!). Perhaps I should introduce myself. My name is Andreas and I live in England along with all my khukuris! Two days ago I suffered a stroke. It was a bad one for someone who is already disabled! There are more tests for me to undergo, but for now I'm treating myself to some khukuris. I too, just happen to love khukuris. They've been my love for fifty years or so. That's all I can manage now; I have just discharged myself from hospital. Not the coolest thing to do, but there's no place like home with my family.

Hi Andreas:

Welcome. You sure have some serious health issues for which I wish you the best. There is nothing like handling and admireing your kuks to help feel better. Get well.

Steve

Heyo solomis sorry to hear what your going through, but glad to meet another khuk lover! ;)

On availability of BDC's: I asked Yangdu to make big ones and she says they are coming. You know- 18" ish and 28 ounces or so. There will be more. If enough sell, catalogue time.

Solomis; I hope you are OK and wish you a return to health. Welcome.

Bladite you just commented on the main difference. The Foxy Folly original was fashioned after a very old khukuri that one of our shy foramites, Foxjaw, owns.
FOxy made a mold and sent the resulting model over to Nepal where the kamis managed to overkill and made it way to heavy. Later models did nail the correct weight but they were mistakes in trying to get the 17" Foxy Folly made. I wish now I had snagged one of those.:( :o
The Foxy Folly has a rat tail tang and the BDC has a Chiruwa tang, otherwise you're right and they are very similar.;)

I like it that HI is making a lot of khukuris that have that nice curve to the spine like this as opposed to the more angled. Good idea of making these Munk:thumbup: Always thought the other smaller models were a bit too small. That looks near perfect and the handle appears to be a nice size too:thumbup:

Is it me, or does the forward pin in the handle look more like a "-" than an "o".

Are the kamis making their own rules again?? :D

I just got the twin of this knife in 14" and love it. This was a nice "one-off' sale and good snag for someone at a very fair price.

Definitely on my to get list.

Man, I totally missed that. Good eye! But I think it's probably just the rouge on that side blocking out the rest of the pin. I have seen that several times on mine. (Although it does look amazingly uniform...?)

Norm

Welcome Solomis, I'll send up some smoke for you today. If it dries out long enough to make some. You know what I mean. Congrats. Beautiful snag.

So we think it's rouge blocking out the sight of the entire pin? Ok.

I really would like to read a report on how these full sized BDC's do.

It's there, just isn't shiny like the rest of the pin.

I do love my 14 incher, I think an 18 would be super Cool.
