BDU Pocket Organizer?

I looked at these in the past also.

Bought a Nike type thing instead (ok it was on sale, real cheap, couldn't help it:D )

I didn't like the thing being pressed against my leg. Rubbed funny and made a hot spot.

However, the "real deal" one may be a lot better.

I would also like anyone's input if they have used one. Could get some of the crap off my belt and would be much more useful when you have an LCE on.

I've had one for a while. It is not stiff at all, it's like a mini-backpack. It weighs almost nothing by itself but it's tough enough that the contents won't tear through it. It does fit perfectly in a field jacket pocket.

I found it works best with the back of it forward, so the carry loop doesn't snag against the pocket flap when you pull it out. You can easily unzip it to get at stuff without pulling it out, though.

You can put a cell phone or multitool or flashlight in the outer mesh pockets (and a pen in the slim center mesh pocket). The main compartment is divided front to back. I don't use the waterproof envelopes, but they are a neat idea.

I don't carry it all that often in my field jacket (because I don't wear the fj all that often :) ) but it makes a great organizer to toss in a briefcase to a backpack to a gear bag.

Intersting - as cargo pants (and cargo shorts in the summer time) are an almost daily wear for me, I think I might try this.

I have a couple of these. They work great for pack organizers in the smaller pockets of your packs. They are great when paired with Spec-Ops Pack Rat organizer. Helps me keep track of things.

Agreed that they work well when paired with other organizers. I have the dry-cell on-board, the mini one (whatever it's called), and the pack rat.

I must say though, I never got the above linked one to work well in my cargo pockets. First of all, there are many cargo pants they won't fit in. Then, even when they do fit in, you have to load it kind of light to keep from swinging it around and smacking into your leg as you walk (unless you wear really tight cargo pants). Again, this is just my experience. I tried putting my cell phone in it, and some other stuff and it was just too much: kept smacking into my leg as I walked. But I love love love it for keeping stuff in so that it can quickly be grabbed out of a larger bag.

I never tried it in a jacket pocket as I don't have any jackets in which it would work well.

When I load up my full sized pack, it usually has a loaded pack rat and a loaded dry-cell on-board in it.
