For the most part, I've had good experiences with my purchases from ebay, I don't sell so I can't comment on that part of it, but there is a guy from Lexington NC selling some collectible model Schrade knives with crappy pictures and misleading descriptions, and a no return policy. Now I don't want to break any rules.....so I won't name the seller if it's a violation. But..Buyer Beware!!! Even if he offers to take it back I'm still out the shipping and hassle.

I agree upstream , the majority of sellers tend to do the right thing as i have bought many schrades on ebay, but there will always be some lowlife trying to make a fast buck.Every now and then i take a punt on a knife without the quality pic's and i too have been burnt. When somebody regularly sells knives with crappy pic's I steer clear.I think the seller you are referring to (t*****g) has one listed now complete with crappy photo's,the main still looks a bit too shiny tho even out of focus.

The "Buffed to Death" ebay seller type has been around a while, and often discussed in the Bernard Levine forum area. I've seen some buffed so badly that even the tang stamps are partially removed.

After an auction is concluded, it's OK to put a link here. It's how we often discuss unusual or questionable knives. But if you want to dog (or praise) a particular seller, the proper place for that is The Good The Bad and The Ugly forum section.

hey it is a two way street on ripping people off. the buyers do it to. I sell on the auctions sites and I state as is no refunds or exchanges but the last auction that I had I went ahead and refunded the persons money back to him. he sent another knife back to me not the one that I sold him. he also put on my cell phone threats of harm to me.It is not always the sell that is ripping people off. I just wanted to point that out.

I just wanted to alert some fellow forum members to beware. The verbal description is just as much as a representation of the item as the pictures are.

If a seller uses language like " FACTORY EDGE. VERY LIGHT HANDLING MARKS. E.C. " what would you expect to see?
