Last week after having stated here I was going to offload many folders and concentrate on scout patterns and fixed blades in 2017, r redden contacted me about a Hess Knifeworks Pioneer he found last spring. On Thursday it was in my mail box. Amazing considering I was just looking at Pioneers and very nearly pulled the trigger on one. Perhaps Mr. Redden can read minds. Regardless he is a very generous one, and I thank him.

This is a great knife.
GEC made 1095 blade.
Blade is 4" long and 0.125" at spine with a flat grind.
Maple burl capped with stag.

Randy is an outstanding example of what's great about the porch. Nice knife, wonderful gesture. Coming from Randy...not surprising.;)
Thanks, Neal

Way to go Randy, you are so generous:cool::thumbup:

Congrats leghog, a wonderful knife:thumbup:

Randy is the undisputed heavy weight champion of gifting knives. Very generous fellow. And that's a nice looking knife. Enjoy it!

The porch strikes again ! And what a fine fixed that is. The sheath look very functional also.

A very decent knife, sent by a decent gent

Hess Knifeworks are remarkable, I have a small Caper of theirs in a fine thick burl, it is really hand friendly and a looker too. They deserve much more recognition in my view.

Regards, Will

In the time I've gotten to know Randy, it comes as no surprise. He likes gifting knives more than collecting. :D
