Be Kind to Your Wife - Our Axe Hangs in Many Kitchens!

I Love it Too, but it is a little rich in price for me. An internet photo is not the same as being able to actually handle the item or read a review from an actual purchaser. Maybe, if someone had one locally, I would change my mind.

It looks wonderful! What kind of steel is used? Have you personally put it through much field use yet?

I once saw a Junglee Panda Skinning Axe that looked like this blade's poor cousin. The extended grip area is a definite functional advantage over the Junglee. And, of course, there is no comparison aesthetically.

The steel used is a stainless steel made in Germany. The nomenclature (part number) is W.No. 1.4034. This steel has a Rc of 57-58, and has a satin finish on it when new.

Unfortunately, living in the Los Angeles area I have not had any opportunity to field test this axe, however I have not heard any complaints from our customers and can assume from it's very rock solid feel with the full tang handle and massive pins that it can take a lot of punishment.

This is a beautiful piece, do not take my comment in the wrong perspective as it was not meant to offend. I have admired several of the fixed blade items from Fox. I just need to be able to see in person one of their items before I would lay that amount of cash down. It's too bad that they are not available locally. They have several fixed blade and axe designs that are of interest to me.

Hi Sarge,

Contrary to your thinking on this, the axe is NOT made by Fox in Italy.

We have this made by another firm that has a higher level of QC and for what it's worth, in our biased opinion, this item should be priced higher than it is.

Thanks for your input.

Again, this is a beautiful piece, do not take my comments in the wrong perspective as they were not meant to offend. I just need to be able to see in person one of these items before I would lay that amount of cash down. It's too bad that they are not available locally. There are several fixed blade and axe designs that are of interest to me. The worth of the item is strictly in the eye of the beholder. You are the seller and you know what the market will bare and need enough profit margin to cover your time and expenses. I have no problem with that but you should also understand that there are potential customers that are unwilling to purchase based soley on a digital image.

Sarge,

I completely understand your point, and that is why we offer a 2 week "satisfaction guarantee" aside from our product warranty. It allows for a full refund on any item returned in new condition within that period, for any reason whatsoever. You can find the details on our web site under terms and conditions. That takes the risk out of purchasing an item from us off of web. At worst case, if you returned it, you would lose maybe $10 in freight.

After looking at your ax on your web sight I was not able to see any pricing. HOWEVER after looking a lot it sure bears a striking resemblance to the old Blackjack Viking Raider except it has a wood handle that covers the finger grooves on the viking . From the pictures the quality looks to be better however I own a Blackjack and I have not seen your ax in person

Berk-1,

Our axe has no connection with any axe made by Blackjack in the past. The price is $169.95, but is not showing on our site at the moment because we are backordered due a large sale that wiped our stock out last week. We will have more in the next few weeks and suggest that you check back on the site now and then for any updates.

Thank you very much for the compliments and questions on our products.
