Howdy There...!
Got a question for the folks that have had practice at bead blasting. Is there something that I can place over the mirror finish blade to protect it from the beads. I have some art work that I would like to put on a blade, but I am not sure if bead blasting is the way to go....? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks...."Possum"

There is a material made by 3M called ButterCut. It's used by glass engravers and people that carve stone memorials using sandblasting techniques. It comes in several thicknesses and designs can EASILY be cut into it with an exacto knife or Computer controled vinyl sign cutting machines.
You could probably find a source at www.thomasregister.com for small quantities.
I use several blast mediums on my knives for different effects and also sandblast the logos on my knives using a masking process for sandblasting.
If I can be of further assistance please feel free to Email me.

Sorry I misread the title of the this post. I had a case of "Bead Balsting" when I tried bead blasting a knife while holding it in my lap.
