Bead blast finish / scratches.

Hi everyone. I have a large KFF and the bead blast finish on the blade has gotten scuffed up due to idiotic sharpening practices. Is there any way I could easily buff off the finish, and get the blade shining clean again? Any help would be appreciated, even a curt and unemotive reference to a preexisting thread.

How deep are the scratches? If you can feel it easily with your finger nail, it will probably need to be completely refinished with sandpaper or something. If you got the right screwdrivers (don't strip the screws by using the wrong screwdrivers), then remove the blade and learn to hand sand.

You might want to wait for other replies though to see if anyone else has a solution before you move onto sanding. This method will remove the bead blast coating. Wear a respirator if you do heavy sanding.

Forgive my failing memory, but didn't someone recently post something about using a felt wheel on a dremel, and maybe some sort of metal polish? Am sure this wouldn't work if scratches quite deep, but might for superficial. I didn't run a search. You might try it.

Duh, didn't even think about one method used fairly frequently -- have it re-bead blasted.
