bead blast scales add warmth?

One of the things I've kinda noticed about bead blasted knives is that the scales tend to exhibit a feeling of more warmth and softness. the polished stuff (mirror, satin) tends to have a cold hard feel.

Does everyone have this impression? or is this more a product of the knife/maker than a general quality of the finish itself (as the finish is represented on the scales/handle).

edit: I should add that I'm limiting my comments to micarta handles (specifically canvas micarta).
