bead blasted Hungarian

I wanted a non-reflective finish on my Hungarian, and I wanted to give it a different "feel" as well. After handling a lot of Tom Krein's knives I figured a full-on bead-blast would do the trick, and here is the result:

Huge thanks to Phil Hyun (maprik) for his clean and precise work, not to mention super fast turnaround and very reasonable pricing.

What do you all think?

As a Hungarian whose been blasted before, ;) I think it came out really knice, as a user I think it'll hold up better, a little less slippery and not as likely to show every little ding or scratch as much as a polished surface will.

Hungarians in general tend not to be very subdued... ;)

Looks great

If you get a chance to post it next to some more common models it would be appreciated :) On the fence with this one.

Thanks! Phil makes subduing Hungarians look easy...

I definitely had the use aspect in mind here. Also it is much more discreet in the pocket as it doesn't shimmer like a cool mountain pond in the midday sun. I also noticed some very visible scratches on the bolsters after only a few days of pocket carry, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Hopefully that helps, looks like there are some pretty standard (yet tricked out) models in that lineup.

I have small to medium hands and it feels very nice, definitely more delicate than most due to the slender profile. I thought the point on the front of the handle and the back point of the bolster/guard would bother me but they are perfectly positioned for my hand size and how I hold a knife. But people with large hands are going to get a totally different impression.

Looks great, I think it's an improvement. I too can attest to Phil's great work!

That helped dearly! Many thanks.
Was expecting it to be larger and not too pocket friendly, awesome. I too have medium mits and like them delicate/slender. Thanks again for the input. It will be mine :)

I agree that the handle feels good in my medium hand. A friend of mine with larger hands said he couldn't get a good grip.

That turned out great! I much prefer this finish to the factory finish. Great work!

Thanks and glad you like it! I liked it so much that I ordered a Hungarian for myself! Feels great in the hand.

That looks great! The regular model is a little too shiny for me that to me is a huge improvement.
