Well, I got the new knife stripped and blasted..........and now that its done, I think I want green and black g10 instead. Lol! :o

Looks good! Did you remove the scales? I have access to a glass bead blaster and tempted to trying it out. Just wondering how the scales would be affected. Maybe could skip the stripping step to?

I left the scales on. I did a chemical strip first so I could give it a lite blast and reduce the chances of hurting the handles too badly.

Looks awesome! I'm thinking of doing same to mine. Can you post a close-up pic of inside the fuller? I'm curious as to how well it cleans up with the bead blasting.
thx!

Oh yeah! GORGEOUS!!!
Nice work!!! The TGLB just looks soooooo good 'nekkid!!!!!

Knifeleather, it really depends on how well the groove was cut. The fullers (and the rest of the machining) on my first tglb are gorgeous. This one's a bit rougher, but its a good kind of rough. Character, I'd say. Might be about time to change the burrs in the ol' cnc machine. I had another one that I bought and immediately sold back to a buddy that had a second groove in the bottom of the fuller. Like the cut was made in two steps and one was too deep.

Hopefully you'll be able to see some detail, but here's the fullers of my two knives side by side.

Thanks for the pics Daddy, definitely quite a difference. I guess only one way to find out how mine are!

Timmy, yes. Blasted them too but just made sure to sweep over the areas near the handle slabs quickly. It's not a problem because the decarb on those smoother areas comes off pretty easy compared to the hollow grind area on the blade.

I work in the fleet department of a water and power district. I'm the small equipment guy, but we have a machine shop with all kinds of cool toys I can play with. ;)
