Does anyone have access to a bead blaster and bead blasted their Sebenza handle slabs on their own. If so... what is the process? Do you tape up the holes or the lockbar? My friend has a bead blaster and I was thinking of giving my Sebenza a refurb. I have never worked with one. Can anyone give me some tips?

Thanks...JT

I don't own a blaster, yet, but have access to a metal working shop.
First of all: I disassemble what I want to blast. I have never done a Sebenza, but if I did, I would double stick the scales to a piece of wood, thereby eliminating the chance of blasting the inside of the scales. Then blast away. When done, the pieces ought to be blown clean with compressed air, then sprayed with a coat of WD-40, towel dry and repeat the WD-40. Then I would air dry the pieces for a day or so before I reassemble. Good luck!

Leave it alone. Continue to use it the manner it was intended and soon it will have a patina of which you will be proud.

I have re-blasted a couple of Sebenzas as well as a few other ti handled knives. All I did was take the knife apart and just blast the scales. I didn't tape up anything or use anything else. I only blasted the outside of the scale and then cleaned it with a toothbrush and some dish soap. After it dried, I simply took some of the CRK grease and lubed it up and put it back together. The whole process takes about 20 minutes.
