While not directly knife related,

I'm going to re-blue some magazines from one of my Sig's that are currently looking pretty rough. They are for a P6 and all parts of the mags are metal, even the bases.

I'm considering having the parts bead blasted to get as regular a preperation finish as possible on the bare metal prior to blueing.

Does anyone know what types of businesses usually have a bead blasting machine? I would like to find someone locally with one to do the bead blasting. I need to know what types of businesses to canvas to find one.

Thanks in advance,

Les.

Some body shops might have one. Places that restore old bikes or cars that use original parts. Powdercoat shops..

Generally, it would be businesses that do metal finishing, like plating or paint for machined parts or sheet metal. One local place in your area is Hytek in Kent, Wa. The problem will be that most places either won't want to do small jobs or they will probably want to charge you more than the cost of new mags.

But you can send them to me and I will do them for the cost of postage.
