Beadblast cure?

I have recently aquired a crkt S-2 W/ATS34 bead blast
finished blade. I already own a few Apache's so I'm more than familiar with the Tuff-cloth routine. My question is: Is there any fix for this problem? Plating, coating, removal? What are my options?
Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

I hate bead blasted finishes because they scratch so easily and there seems to be no way to remove the scratch. On a CQC7 I've had for years, I tired of looking at all the scratches so I renoved the sand blasted finish with sand paper. The result looks better because at least it is uniform in appearance. If I possessed a buffing wheel, I'll bet I could get a realy nice brushed look which, if it became scratched, could be easily remedied.

I used a scotchbirte (SP) pad, slowly and evenly in one direction. Then I buffed it out. I was happy with the results. You might even want to take the knife apart so that the new finish continues down to tang. I hope this helps.

I took my CRKT companion apart and began with 400 grit paper and worked my way up to 2000 . . . worked great!
