beadblasting carbonfiber

[Ansoknives]

I´m finishing a knife with carbonfiber and was thinking that a beadblast and a polish should bring out a nice contour. Have any of you got experience with this?

Jens: Bead blasting Carbon fiber is only a little more idifficult than blasting G10, and it should produce a nice texture, depending on the weave of the material and the type of resin. My advice: Start with a lower pressure and go easily, and keep that gun moving. It is real easy to make craters, and miss the spot right next door!

My personal favorite for CF is still a 320 satin finish-good looks, good grip, not too glossy.

I agree with Rj here on the satin finish .. Its grippy and looks great.

I just finished the knife to a 4oo grit finish. That looks absolutly great. I´ll try the beadblast and post my experience
