This Beer Tender Barlow recently released by Bear and Son is kind of interesting. The bottle opener or cap lifter isn't also a screw driver like most are, the bolster has an etch instead of a stamp which makes me wonder how long it will last. The knife itself is put together decent for the price, and I think the smooth bone looks great. However the knife is just a little weird.

Is the long edge on the caplifter sharpened?
Might be the angles of camera and light(s) but to me, it doesn't look like it is.

Maybe it's a Philips screwdriver, ha-ha, like on small Leatherman, you know. Jokes aside, that's strange not to make an additional tool out of it. Well, that seems to be typical of B&S.

I was just happy that it's put together pretty well.

And the bone looks quite pleasant, a goldenrod-like color. Also, I think that the caplifter might have been made from a same blade blank as the main clip blade. At least it looks like it is, but you should be able to tell if that's the case by comparing them in person.

Oh, I didn't even think about that. It looks like that might be what they did.

Glad you got a good one, the covers made me want one but I already have 3 bear and son one arm razors. The pulls and even blade angles across the same pattern are pretty variable. One of them is my goldilocks knife, it is just right.;)

Looks like the caplifter could be ground into a punch/awl/scraper pretty easily.

Are the blades carbon or stainless?
