I have an opportunity to purchase a ton of new old stock knives from a mom and pop knife and outdoor sporting goods store that has gone out of business. Included in this inventory are several Bear and Son knives with 10 or 12 wooden display cases that have the Bear and Son Logo in or on them and appear to have been made by the manufacturer filled with 5 to 15 knives in each one with both traditional and fixed blade Bear and Son knives. I know nothing about Bear and son knives and cannot find any info on collector sets by Bear and Son in wooden display cases like these. They appear to be well made also what about the quality of these knives. These sets are reminiscent of this set of Case knives I bought from him a couple of weeks ago with the exception of the logos. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even pointing me in the right direction for research. This is the Case collection I bought. If I do buy them I will do a GAW with one of the sets to say thanks for your input

info@bearandson.com (256) 435-2227. This is some contact info. I found. Fit and finish seem pretty good. From what I have saw in the past. However I don't own any. Be sure to let us know what you find out.

In a recent thread in the General forum, on worst QC, Bear and Sons is named in two posts out of 52 (posts 20 something and 40 something). That might say more about their market share than their quality, though.
I don't remember ever hearing anything good about them, but we can be persnickety around here.
I guess I would say buy them if you like them, assuming you can handle them; or buy them if you want to help out Mom and Pop, but if you're buying them as an investment buy them cheap.
Mind you, I wouldn't mind winning one and seeing for myself. The only one I've ever handled was a peanut that seemed well made, though possibly a little thick in the covers.
