I bought a Bear and Sons Sharpfinger lookalike . I like that style of knife .It wasnt very sharp but I corrected that . This is my first Bear and Sons knife. It seems like a decent enough knife. Are Bear and Sons considered good knives?

Are Bear and Sons considered good knives?
Try it out and see. :D
I really like that style of knife as well, what kind of steel is the blade? Do you like the sheath, what style is it? How thick is the blade and what kind of grind does it have?
Inquiring minds need to know!

Its 440 steel ,prob. 440A. Its hollow grind. I dont like the sheath a whole lot. It has a snap button. Id rather have a faster sheath. I got mainly for fishing .

I had a similar Schrade that was stolen. It had a friction sheath that I prefered.

I almost bought one of those Bear and Sons sharpfinger look a likes myself. I saw them in SMKW catalog .They are made in the U.S.A i think. Instead, after hours of thinking about it, I opted and bought a Camillius one like it and I dont like the Camillus one, the blade is too thin. I wish I had bought the Bear and Sons now. I have a Sharade Sharpfinger but its made in China, I like it though and from what I understand the Sharade one is made by Taylor Knives and the knife is made from 440 steel so Ill be content with that. I do wish I had the Bear and sons also.

Very nice Schrade USA Sharpfingers are readily available on the popular auction site for pretty darn reasonable prices. That's how I got mine and I much prefer it to the Bear version (which I also have). You might want to check it out.

I'd go for old-school Schrade myself. They're available if you look hard enough.

Bear and Sons, if I'm not mistaken, is in Jacksonville, Alabama. I've been tempted to try their sharpfinger version several times.

I have a number of Bear & Sons knives and I like them, too. They're not the most beautiful knives with Damascus blades, but they seem eminently usable and well made.
