hi, just and interesting observation, i noticed on ebay than found them on smkws website, that bear cutlery is now making knives for remington instead of camillus.I know that remington has been making alot of their knives overseas lately but it looks like their bringing some back over here just not to camillus. If and when camillus ever settles this mess and starts making some of their past contract knives again, ill be buying again.the knives im talking about that i found are the 2 toothpick patterns on smkws website.probably more to come.I read the latest and the 2 sides met and their trying to figure out who is actually in charge according to the post newspaper in syracuse, well at least their back talking.

Some Remington knives were made by Arrowhead in the US, this factory was owned by United. When United Cutlery became financially in trouble Remington moved production to Bear. These Remingtion knives made by Arrowhead should become very collectable.
Since Arrowhead and United Cutlery filed bankruptcy on 10-02-06, I think many of the United Cutlery brands should really go up in value.

Apparently United Cutlery has gone into chapter 11 protection. I haven't found any specifics yet. That is not the same as a dissolution bankruptcy. But this is all I found, the one reference and it is in a fantasy knife forum. Anyone have a more detailed link to a news story?

Bear cutlery has made Remington knives for a while. The bird hunting tool (shears with knife, gut hook,choketool/screwdriver) was made by bear as well as others.

United Cutlery has declared bankruptcy and is going to be dissolved/sold according to a post by Kit Rae on a fantasy knife forum five days ago.

UC did file chapter 11 last Monday. I resigned as UC's product development director several months ago to pursue my own design business. I had been with them for 20 years and felt it was time to move on, though another one of my reasons was the direction the company was going. It was once a great company to work for and we did a lot of good projects there.

A few weeks ago UC laid off the entire PD staff, so it looks like any new projects are dead. They filed chapter 11 last week. There may be a chance they can reorganize and get bought by another company, though the LOTR license is gone.
