While watching the fictitious escape tonight of Bear Grylls "Man vs Wild" I noticed a familiar folder in his use. But never a shot close enough for me to verify what it was. Anybody else see and catch it?
Peace.

I'd also like to know. Few scenes of the show where he was using it, here's the only picture I could find,

The knife had black Fiberglass looking scales and it did not look like it used an Axis lock, looked like a liner lock, but still could not ID the knife. I think I saw the outline of the Benchmade Butterfly on the blade durring the show.

it looked like an emerson CQC12 or 13 to me but i might be wrong i couldnt ever see it very well.

No it was not and Emerson CQC 12 or 13.

To bad the show was full of deadly information but I still would like to find out what knife it was.

no thats not a EKI blackbird i dont think.

maybe a boker wagner ??

on another subject i loved it when he peed on the t-shirt and wrapped it around his face, i would have to be pretty hot before i would even consider that lol, i guess he was in a "survival" mode.

and did any of ya see the same guy in the show about basic training for the french foreign legion?? that was pretty interesting also, as far as survival shows i dont know who i like better this bear guy or the other guy on discovery channel i forget his name.

Remember,This guy climbed Mt Everest to be the youngest at the Mount age 23,He has served as a guide and climber around the world. He has to depend his life on his simple blade day in and day out.
He must have chosen a blade of superior construction and ease of maintenance.
I'm quite sure money was not the issue when picking his blade.
That said, what the heck is it that he trusts his live with??????

Peace.

Looked to me like smith and wesson was folder with a black blade. It was a liner lock for sure. Inserts in the handle scales.

Did not look like too high quality of a folder.

Personally, I think a ~$25 dollar Victorinox Rucksack is more versatile.

Usually he has some $30-40 knife, nothing fancy. He's used a Gerber Gator in a couple episodes.

i dont think he uses anything particulary nice FWIW, or expensive.

i suppose it does the job at hand though.

he beats the hell out of his knives...he probably has a whole bunch and goes through them pretty fast. No sense buying a really expensive knife when you beat the hell out of them so much.

I can't say the same for that watch. It costs over $2,000. It's a yellow Breitling Emergency.

in Alaska, the Valcano, and Africa he used a Gerber gator clip point combo edge. in the alps he used a wenger Serrated Mountaineer. In Costa Rica he used a dive knife and in the desert island episode he used the same knife.

yes thats what it was. I thought it was a victorinox because it looked like the trekker but i didnt know of any what looked like single bladed victorinox knives.
