I saw that KnifeCenter has a Bear MGC Mother of Pearl Stockman (BC833) for $41. It seems a good price for any stockman.
Has anyone any experience with Bear's Stockmans, or their folders in general?

I have a stag stockman made by them. The fit is excellent, strong springs, etc.... The finish is just O.K.. The stag was'nt really well matched, and they use a brushed satin like finish that is a bit ho-hum. I tended to like a mirror finish on certain knives.

The knife was shaving sharp, and edge holding has been good thus far.

HTH:D:).

Yup.., that is a pretty good deal Tom.., not a bad knife at all!

I once bought a Bear MGC trapper with some of the most gorgeous white pearl ever. I mean, pearl that belonged on a Tony Bose knife. The fit and finish of the blades were an OK satin finish, but the blades did have decent grinds and sharpened up nicely and held a good edge. I believe Bear MGC uses 440A for their stainless, which is ok. How those pearl slabs ended up on a $40 pocketknife, I havent a clue, but I'll bet a person would have to pay about $60-70 for similar pearl slabs alone. I ended up giving the knife to Jerry Fisk for a gift. He seemed happy to get it.
