Hello guys, sorry for my english i am from Greece. I want to ask if someone know if these brands of bearings have good Steel for knife making for example i Know that koyo bearings are laminated Steel and they will crack easy when you quench it. But what about these :
URB Romania
VPZ Russia
NTN Japan
RSR 5210
Thanks for your time!

Evidently the most common steel alloy used for bearings is 52100, which is a good high carbon steel and can be used for knives. I don't know anything about any particular brands of bearings, though.

The stainless equivalent for 52100 is BG-42. It is a double melt high purity steel and is used in the food industry. The VIM/VAR technology includes a Vacuum Induction Melt and a Vacuum Arc Remelt. Ceramic bearings don’t have corrosion problems.
