I asked on the Spyderco forum, but no one has answered.

Is this a good lube for the bearing system in the Southard? It doesn't seem to work all that great with my Pb equipped knives, but works very nicely on the wood/metal pivot on my Opinel.

"4 oz Non-Stick LubricantUnique dry-film Teflon coating and lubricant. Clean, long-lasting micro-thin, dirt-resistant coating. Effective from -100F to +500F. Uses proprietary resin-bonding technology. For tight tolerance, metal-on-metal applications. Creates a thin, dirt-repelling, chemical-resistant coating. Safe for all surfaces. Does not contain silicone."

Now that I've gotten ahead of myself ... I don't actually see any need to lube the Southard, but I have heard of people doing so. At what point is it needed? Anyone have any idea how well sealed the bearings are? An exploded pic would be awesome!

I love the way Chris Reeve's grease makes mine feel. It is the ONLY knife I like this grease on.

I havent used that kind but iv used other oils from that company they worked good.

But I'd have to agree with neverdie dry is the way to go with bearings.

Try Nano-Oil in the 5 weight version, it will evaporate in a few days leaving the lubricating ingredients behind to do their job for a long time.
