Bears Ultimate knife

Does anyone have any opinions on gerbers new Bears ultimate Knife? its brand new and was hoping to get a reveiw or two!

idk for 60 bucks it looks like a decent deal. i figure its definatly designed to take abuse, but considering what bear usualy uses his knife for, i doubt that they are to worried about edge retention so its probably a softer steel.

I haven't even seen it available for purchase yet. I think it's set to release in November.

Ok so yeah, my mistake its available only for preorder until november. if anthing, depending on how long they run with it, its pretty obviously a promotional stunt, but it may turn out to be a nice (fun to have) collectors item. funnythe first thing i told my father when i saw it was "if they dont run it above sixty, then it should be a hit."

i noticed that the blade is very similar (or the same as) to their Prodigy, which does not have a flat grind. but the handle is one of the nicest feaures, so idk that could be a non insignia'd substiuted knife if that part turns you off. idk i just thought that it was just fun and cool that he got that going!!

i sure wish i could design my own line of knives! can you imagine...designing and manufacturing your dream knife!!!

It does look 'prodigy-like', but not bad for a $60 knife. I actually like the orange accents, which will make the knife easier to see. I guess for Bear, it's basically a disposable knife, since he'll most likely be getting a new one for each trip/episode. I wonder why he stopped using the Bayley knife. I always thought that knife performed awesome.

well it isnt on bayleys website. i just think it was time for something new. or bayley got sick of bear shredding through his knives every time he goes out. bears almost as hard on his knives than i am lol i mean i just snapped my esee 6 as i posted in my other forum. i must have some bad luck!

I like the looks of the knife and the sheath. But as usual with gerber they added serrations which I'm not a fan of. Maybe somewhere down the road they will manufacture some plain edge knives.

It's a commercial decision. Just a ploy to sell knives. And it’s no a very good knife.
I think it’s priced right though.

Personally I wouldn’t buy it as a survival knife. The serrations ruin it for me. (and the association with Bear Grylls, when I Google 'bear g' Googles second suggestion is 'bear grylls fake'
