Been tryin to make the Beast2 as ''perfect'' as possible, this is my BOB/72HR-Bag/Emergency-Kit blade, I wanted to maximize the capabilities of a knife that is durn near indestructible to be the ultimate survival tool. Although the BK2 is really hard to truly improve on, here's my efforts.
THE MODS
added jimping, great traction, good firesteel striking, still far enough back not to interfere with batoning
ground the front of the handle-frame down flat, added jimping, made a choil for close work without compromising the blade-edge.
Next I filed the pommel, made a ''skullcrusher'' I guess.
It looks cool (I think) and also makes it easier to use the pommel to pound the knife, it really ''locks'' on the baton-club.
makes for a good thumb-lock in reverse grip too
TESTING
need to make a club?
Club!
Made a very noticeable improvement when pommel-batonning, I have done it before and I could tell the club ''bit'' in much better, no slipping and possibly breaking a finger!
The Beast makes a nasty wound-channel!
Plenty of spine left in front of jimping to baton with!
yeah, that's Quarter-Inch goodness right there!
hard treated 2x6 is no match for the 'Crusher! I don't care who you are, that's gonna leave a mark! (also good for crushing walnuts)
I was playing with 550 today and accidentally discovered a lanyard technique. I like a lanyard on certain occasion, but usually dont want one on my knife. This is perfect solution for me, I will try to explain in pics.
The harder you pull on the tag/lanyard end, the tighter it holds...but friction holds it tightly even with no pressure, Stores out of the way on the sheath when not needed.
The 2 and I thank you for looking
