Hi I'd love to give myself a present for christmas (late of course). can anyone name some hard use folders? Under 50 would be best, but I can manage $100 if I really need to. thanks in advance

Check out the new Buck/TOPS CSAR-T. It's big and getting good reviews. Also, should be available for under $100.

I'd say go for the Spyderco Endura with wave. Enduras are so underated but such amazing knives.

Ontario Rat 1.

You didn't say what size blade you want or how you'll be using it. Hard use can mean different things to different people. If I remember correctly you used a mini griptilian to cut through a hard plastic pool filled with frozen mud.:) That's harder use than I put my mini grip to, lol.

The Rat 1 is a good knife, but if you don't have a Spyderco then consider a Delica or Native or for something a little bigger a Endura. Let us know what you get.

If you look around, you can find a ZT 0350 for around 100 new. Sometimes they pop up on the exchange here for under that in like new condition. You can get a factory blem for under 100 from Kershawguy here (they are basically 99% condition).

Fixed blade: Izula.

Yes...... Buck/TOPS C-SAR. About $95 at Knifecenter when they arrive back in stock again.

Kershaw JYD II. Nice and affordable. Also, the Griptilian is, at least in my mind a nice solid knife. The ZT500 is very nice and strong as well, but it is a little more expensive than your range.

I bought one of the JYD II's for my dad for x-mas. It's a pretty bad ass knife. I'm going to have to get one for myself. It was alot bigger than i had thought.

I second the Kershaw Junkyard Dog II. It would be hard to find a more robust knife in it's price range

The Cold Steel Spartan (~$57-$60) and if you want really beastly (huge) the Cold Steel Rajah II (~$97.00)

I would lean toward the Spartan. I am noting the word beastly that was used to describe what you are interested in.

My usual reccomendation; Kershaw G-10 Tyrade. Composite blade of 154CM and CPM D2. Thick blade at .157". Liners are hardened stainless steel and ~.080" thick. This is a beast and all under $100 to boot!!
