Beaters

Had to get this one out today and was wondering iView attachment 729408 View attachment 729409 f any of yall have any pictures of your ugly old axes, found this handle behind a chimney in a garage, guy was throwing away the head because a heel was broke off 3lb head 35 inch handle
I doubt anyone here has such axes to post pictures of.
A quality American made tool if taken care of only gets more beautiful with age, so the only ugly axes we could post pictures of would be broken heads that aren't worth seeing or axes in patterns we don't find appealing which we wouldn't keep.
Ugly may have been a poor choice of words, because you certainly won't here me using it to describe something I own and still consider to be an axe ( if it's broken and can't be fix it's no longer an axe )

Here is a 4lb plumb I got on the cheap. I discovered the plumb stamp while cleaning it up. It is pitted from rust . It is my go to splitting axe. I actually am quite fond of it.

I suppose it could be considered ugly. It is definitely my beater.

as always, sorry for the picture, from left to right: no name heavy jersey. my first hang. i give it to people that i dont trust who want to split. the handle's not stained, thats mildew. second is one i post about a lot. my 3.5 kelly perfect. i grab it for everything. third up is my "hot rod" splitter. 3 pound legitimus swamper cruiser. and lastly is my council tool normal jersey, i put a fresh coat of paint on it about a month ago to clean it up a bit. the legitimus is on a 32" all the others are 36"
