Started the day off by going on a day hike in the woods near my home. Hiked about a mile in and used the RC4 to process some wood and get a fire going for lunch. The wood was super wet (rained the past couple days) but I was able to get inside larger wood to get the dry stuff thanks to the RC4.

Sorry in advance for the poor picture quality. I usually hike with my Nikon D60but these were all taken on an iPhone. Had to cut down on weight and use a trekking pole because I just came off a badly sprained ankle. Only back to about 75% but I can't let it keep me indoors any longer!!

Later that night I decided to have a fire out back. It was all ready dark so I processed the wood in my garage in order to snap some shots with my phone. I started off by batoning through wood from an old rabbit cage, filled with nails.

The RC4 eats nails...

And after a couple strikes on the old fire steel....

I'm very impressed with the RC4. I batoned it right into a few nails and even slammed the edge into the concrete floor on accident a couple times. The edge shows very little denting, no chipping and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to sharpen it all out.

i've used the knife in a similar way, in a bushcraft workshop. and i can concur. i've wacked the crap out of the knife, straight through knots and all. no dents or chips in the edge. only thing that happened is the coating smoothing out. same goes for the Izula (and i spose any RAT knife).

i'm very impressed with the RC-4 (and Izula) aswell and i can tell you that these 2 are the first but definitely not the last RATs i'll buy

Great pictures. My favorite photos of rats are them being used. I think iphone pictures are just fine by the way.

Great photos. It's awesome to see RATs getting used. The RC-4 was my first RAT blade and has seen the most use. Thanks for sharing!

Nice to see the RC-4 showing what it can do. We all know it can skin game and cut meat - heck, my Henkels chef knife can do those things - but batonning to split wood is why we pick real knives!

Nice pics! I just joined this forum because I have been wanting an RC4 and I wanted to find out some info on it and some other Rat's too.

Impressive.

Stop wanting and get to getting! :D You won't regret it!

Great all around blade.

Nice, but uhm...try not slamming the edge into concrete floors now will you, okay?
