Ive never given my first impressions on a Tomahawk before so be kind please :). I bought the Cold Steel Trail Hawk and it arrived today. I immediately took it out of the box and stripped the paint and sanded the haft. The hawk had a very nice friction fit and the hawk took a nice edge. But the one bad taste that is left in my mouth was the handle. The handle was crooked and looked warp. Now I dont really mind that, because i appreciate everything I have so it wont be a bother.I think it gives it a unique flair XD Anyone else ever have this problem before.

The handle was lathe-turned before being fully 'cured'. The warp is minor if the purpose is for chopping branches but if throwing is the object then you'll want something as straight (balanced from side to side) as you can get.

Better the handle than the head. The bit of mine is bent that same way. :p

Not horrible or surprising for the price, but still...

I've mentioned this before, but yes, CS tomahawk handles are not good. They're thrown together in Japan without much QC or care for detail. It's about the equivalent of the "dollar store" of tomahawks, relatively. But for the price, it's not a big deal. Check out Crazy Crow Trading Post website or House Handle for a replacement.

With a bit of luck you should be able to straighten your handle out with some clamps and a straight edge
