We used the tar out of my convexed MOAB in Co. this week. I was there to help while we filmed some short videos for the Christian men's ministry, "Cavetime" that we will be launching soon. We were filming by the light of 2 campfires, which required a constant stream of fresh wood for brightness. I only snapped a couple of pics myself, of the MOAB in use by another helper, but we chopped on and off for hours.

We were at 7000 feet altitude, and I got winded pretty quickly, but the big knife was awesome. It really made short work out of chopping lots and lots of hard (cedar?) wood. Everyone had "knife envy."

I have a Boss St. that will make a cameo in the vid's, but not for a month or so, when post-production is finished. I will post it up when it is available.

somewhere in the .400"-.420" range. I don't have a weight on the one I had, but I'd be curious for those who have one and have a scale.

But remember, size is relative o_o The khukuri above and below are both 1/2" thick at the ricasso.

One of these days if I ever have the money again, I'd like to buy one like tom has. I recall reading that the newer satined custom shop versions have thinner edges then the one I had. Tom's looks pretty awesome

Great knife, I need (want) one! I've never seen the CG version before only satin. I love the jungle green and canvas. Can't wait to see the vid of that beast in action.:thumbup:

Awesome knife. Thanks for the pics. I was thinking about a battle pappy but might have to rethink it (and save more money). Thats the knife that should have been in "The book of Eli". Hope I win the custom shop credit.

The MOAB at the Alaska show measured .391 thick at the ricasso.
A liitle tooooooooooo spendy for me.

Tom, it sounds like you are involved in an iteresting project. I would love to learn more about it.

They actually don't feel as "cow-ish" in the hand as you would expect.

The ones I held, while heavy choppers to be sure, did not feel all that bad! Made me want one for sure.
