I picked up this little guy the other day, and the more I thought about it the less sure I was about it. From the side profile it looks like a nice, east coast fireman's axe. Then you turn it 90 degrees, and the pick part is flat, like an undercutter. 
But then I was looking in Axe Makers of NA and it sounded like the undercutter hadn't really be developed before the Beatty factory closed. Thought perhaps some of you with more extensive resources and experience could maybe shed some light on it for me... It's a little under 10" long too, which seems smaller than most of the undercutters I think I've looked at on the bay.
