Wednesday's AYBB arrived today... Aunt Yangdu said she had several of these, I just happened to be online when the sale went down... :rolleyes:

See the attached pix of this way-cool little khukuri.

First impressions:

1. It came SHARP, a little unusual :eek:

2. Small enough for EDC on me but it's a real HI khuk! :eek:

3. No kami mark, wierd 4-cornered mark seen in pic on both sides- a decoration, I think

4. NEAT lil' stepped Sword of Shiva (SoS to the cognoscetti)

5. 3 finger grip, 1 finger under does it

6. Love this lil' metal handled beauty!

I seed one o' thems Swords of Shiva on other models of khuk. I think that one may have been done at another shop.

That's my guess anyways. :confused:
 
I've seen a few khuks with an extra symbol just past the SoS, at the bend. I asked about it once, and Bill replied that it's one of those things the kamis do when they feel like it just because they can.
 
Interesting, raghorn.... it shows up pretty well in the 4th pic. Like a star the SoS is reaching up to touch.

Also, the blade is mini-fullered... definetly hammered out thinner toward the back, AK-style...

This one is about the size of a Bilton, but with a thicker blade, and much more nicely finished.

i kinda wish i would have dug a little deeper and got one myself. Oh well, i'm already going to be in trouble in the future Mrs finds out that I bought a Rose while we're in the process of buying a house..shhhhh, ok guys?

Mine has kisses on the bolster too :D you know, XXXX on each side :D and definitely sharp. I like it. The difference between it and the Bilton is the fullers and a cho and a real SoS on the Chit. The blade on the Chit is almost twice as thick as the Bilton, I see. Both very nice.
 
Glad you got one too, mamav. They're art, really. Sharp too.

Something funny. Frog has small rivets. Going to find another carry anyways.

Did yours come with the tiny karda & chakma? :D
