Here is a 20 inch, 2 pound 2 oz. Banspati made and marked by Bura. It is excellent in all aspects with a hardness of about 60 Rc. Handle is brass engraved with tashi dili symbols as are the handles on karda and chakma, however, the blade has been left plain. This is a 10 out of 10 khukuri and so are karda and chakma.

So, what's wrong with this rig? The scabbard took a serious hit in shipment and was torn near the mouth. You can see the tear in the picture. And, the scabbard was not made by Nepal's best sarki.

So, take this rig for $95 delivered to your door. That is about $75 off regular and plenty to hire Terry Sisco to make a new scabbard if you are so inclined.

this looks like the answer to my dry-climate handle-cracking trouble. And made by Bura, to boot. I'll take it if still available.Bill, do you think it's too handsome to use?--Jance
 
Jance, it is yours.

The knife is not too beautiful to use. The brass is engraved but that shouldn't be a factor in use. And, I think the knife will take a hell of a beating and just keep on going.

And, you are dead right. The handle is not going to crack!

These khukuris are fantastic work horses!!
When I tested my 27" I was overwhelmed by its cutting ability!!
I know that some of that is due to its length, But the whole deal out performed my expectations!!

Great buy!!
