This is a complement to Dennis' stunning incoming thread. I would not have this one if it weren't for you my friend! Quite possibly, it takes the crown as my best inlay.

Proper pictures now ... in warm morning light. These are very accurate.

Your guy's two samples of that wood are hands down my favorite inlays....

gerogous

I have to admit that I like your raindrop pattern a little more though! ;)

Great Serg ......! Can't wait for you to be wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, so you can post more pics. Heck .... when you posted this, I was deep asleep with visions of box elder dancing in my head!!! You know us older folk need our rest!!!

What on earth, they finally are doing a much better raindrop without all those layers, like about 12 years ago...and the wood wow wow wood is amazing!!

There was a sweet spot, over the last two years, where the raindrop really looked great to my eye. But it is all in one's own eye, isn't it.

Thanks for posting these ...... FANTASTIC! Your pics reveal two faces in the front lower inlay that I didn't notice in the site photos .... sweet! Mine is jealous now ...... it only has one face that I can see looking back at me!!!!

I wasn't particularly thrilled with the raindrop, but it looks really good in person. It has a lot of contrast and a nice shine to it. I really like it.

To be honest, I look for a nice inlay and do not care too much about the blade steel. I like them all.

oh man....I NEED one of those! I have never seen an example of Box elder or any wood for that matter that has struck me like those two......

It hurts....

This one is quite special. You have to be on the lookout and move fast if there's one you like ... plus a good dose of luck is usually involved.

...and now must I defend my most eloquent of box elder...he who hides his faces and tries to appear somewhat orderly and gentlemanly... as a folder of true fashion would be expected to perform. Hearken ye not unto those most devilish who demonstrate their disproportionate faces as a brazen hussy her legs. But...rather...frown gently, nod in acceptance, and smile at the nicely flowing lines of box elder ... demonstrating eveness of purpose amid a calm sense of peace with oneself.

Yea, verily ..... the many shades and demeanor of the box elder!
