Hey everybody! I just wanted to show a Rifleman's Hawk Mod I done for the Pastor of my local Church. I wanted to do something nice for Pastor Appreciation Month so I figured this would suffice!
I think it turned out pretty good! Below are some pics and a tutorial video I made. Let me know if you guys have any questions!

Here is the video, Pics are below it

Here is the outcome!

I stripped the head of the black coating.

I then added some file work to the head coated it with some super gun blue. After applying the gub blue I lightly sanded with 3000 grit sandpaper to bring out the pits in the head.

I added some Hawk Feathers (These were giving to me!)

I sanded the Shaft and drew my designs on with a pencil (inspired from the movie The Patriot) and the used my woodburning tool and traced over my pencil markings.

The sheath I got from www.walkbyfaith777.com It was only $20 and has my Pastors initials on it.

I used a few coats of special walnut then realized I was using the wrong stain. I then put one final coat of English Chesnut on it.
It came out a hybrid color but still looks decent. I then followed with 3 generous coats of spray polyurethane clear satin.

What a nice comment man! I'm glad it has inspired you! Yes, I have the best Pastor in the world, his office is filled with guns and different weapons from around the world. I was honored that he was gonna hang this one up!
I appreciate the nice comment man, thanks!

nice job on the axe head and even patina .. gonna wait for my spike hawk and i will try a thing or 2 on it.

Awesome job! Something to be proud of. You might want to remove the feathers as it is a federal offense to possess them (birds of prey are protected). Hate to see the pastor locked up!
