EMS on this gorgeous FF. Couldn’t help myself, that wood is too beautiful. This will make a great gift to my SO.

Got the DD. Sharks in them thar waters.

Congratulations! Great looking Knife!
I would call it the shadow cat. Looks like there is a shadow of someone petting a cat. A sign of good fortune.

I cannot think of a better name than that; shadow cat it shall be so!

I just received my FF in the mail yesterday and hope to do a more full review soon since I think these deserve more screentime, especially the 12” medium lengths.

The first word that comes to mind is simply “scary.” The snubnosed blunt tip and fat round belly all belie this blade’s capacity to deal some serious cuts. It was MADE to slash. That same broad belly, combined with a thin spine and steep grind, make for some tremendous bite. With barely any effort I made a quick slash to some thick cotton oil-spill pads about 1/2” thick and this curvaceous monster tore through all of them with zero resistance and gouged the wooden tabletop underneath. Now THIS is a knife!

Thanks to all the talent that made this item possible, and much respect to the Kamis who forged it! Not to mention the speedy service of the talented auntie Yangdu!

Yangdu is the absolute best. No better service and consideration anywhere. You got a beautiful knife. Still for you SO or you change your mind? They are hard to give up.

Thank you! I offered it to my SO, but she’s still enamored by her Hori-Hori that I got her a few weeks ago. She had to decline for the time being. I told her the FF was hers whenever she wants, on the condition I would need to replace it with another. *wink*

Funny story. My wife was gracious enough to be the first to the PO Box pickup, then gave me a call on my work lunch break to let me know, “A special triangle box from the Himalayas is here for you!” I will say she loves the Foxy’s shape more than my more angular and aggressive models.

Between the thin blade and short size, this Foxy model is definitely the most “personal” feeling kukri I’ve owned so far. You are right that it’s hard to give up. I wore it on my belt at work for fun and barely noticed it at all when it came to weight. The traditional dap sheath caused the handle to stick out to the side and bump into things, so I may look into a slimmer leather sheath. I thought of kydex but natural materials feel more right.
