I realize most of the really great looking knives - are the custom ones - which I can't afford - but for example - Pro-Tech makes some knives with really pretty handles - are there any other Factory Made Knives that have a custom look - in the $100-$200 range ??

This is a Lakota hunter,from www.foxridgeoutfitters.com a little over a hundred.
It is $101.25,+ shipping. If you shop around, you can buy a Beautiful custom knife for $100 -$200.Hint-VCM3 Custom F/S,is a good example of a beatiful custom knife, for WELL under $200.
There are other knifemakers that can deliver you a custom knife for $200,so I don't understand your thread, unless you don't want a custom knife, but want a production knife, that looks custom ???

I have a mini skirmish and its well worth the money...you can pick one up on line for probably $130 or so...............paul

Thanks for responses - didn't know I could get a custom made knife for under $200 - can you recommend any knifemakers ?? - I thought most of the custom knifes cost in the hundreds to thousands - other examples - for me - of beautiful knifes: - kershaw rainbow leek ; spyderco delicia with mother of pearl handle - leek with mop handle - and looking for other examples.
Also - who makes VCM3 custom F/S ??
Many Thanks

All of the Northwoods knives are in the price range you mentioned, and they are as pretty as they are functional.

I second Spyderco Kopa. I have Cocobolo, and I am planning to get more.

If you are looking for folders there aren't many custom makers that are making knives at $200.00 or under. You can get lots of custom fixed for that price. One maker of folders for under $200.00 is Dick Atkinson.

Check HERBIEDUKEs Hankins for sale in the Custom For Sale section here on the forums. Also check Steve Vanderkolff knives , a real bargain.

Billy Watson has 3 folders under $200 :
18TH Century Rev. War folder
18TH Century soldiers folder

Factory knives that look like customs...

Check out A.G. Russell's website. Beautiful knives from all over the world, many with natural handle materials.

Hard to beat the value and the looks of Bark River Knives. DLT Trading has a great selection, and I really like the Mountaineer that's an exclusive at A.G. Russell's.

Looking for a low-price custom? Eagle-eye the "For Sale By Maker" section. Lots of knives sail through there in your price range, but you gotta jump fast.

Kelgin Knives make custom knives based on your sketches or design ideas and material choices. Prices start at $150.

Anza knives can customize any of their standard patterns, or design a knife to your specs. Usually under $100.

Happy shopping!

I really like the looks of the Bark River knives, they all have great fit finish, micarta handles and A-2 steel. The prices are almost to good to be true for all that. They look like a custom knife and better than many customs I have seen.

Spyderco's Kiwi has fallen victim to Santa Fe Stoneworks and all variations usually are less than $200.00 if a Wharncliff folder is your cup of tea. Paul Berretta, The Deacon, has quite a collection. This is just one shot from his web page:
