I am a machinist by trade and I love my job. I wouldn't be happier doing anything else. I have my father in law to thank for this, letting me walk into his shop several years ago, not knowing a dang thing about machining. He put his best CNC machinist in charge of training me, and paid for me to be educated in cad/cam. He was at my house a few days ago and commented on a 100th anniversery edition kennedy tool box that I keep my gun accessories in and asked if I needed something for my knives. I told him that I was keeping my sharpening equipment and knife tooling in a tackle box. He showed up at my door this morning and handed me a beautiful piece of history. The box pictured below belonged to his great grandfather, my wifes great great grandfather. (the tool and die making trade has been in his family for many many years). His gesture of kindness almost brought a tear to my eye. Just though I would share it with y'all.

Beautiful, and it comes with a great story and a history. What a great present!

I was going to say beautiful but it's already been said twice. Oh what the hell: Beautiful! They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

^ It was hand made by a man who worked in the small factory that made union tool boxes, although this box is not a union box. It was gifted to my wifes great great grandfather by that man.

Pretty wicked! I've been trying to find something with longer drawers at the bottom for machetes, hawks, choppers, with smaller compartments up top for folders. Seems like no smaller chests fit that description.

Very classy looking.

Btw - 22LRs prices are ridiculous now. :thumbdn:
