I'm doing another contest.

Winner gets a Kabar Heavy Bowie.

Simple contest,

Photoshop a Kabar Knife of any make, into a picture that predates WWII. So, as an example, George Washington Crossing the Delaware River, with a Kabar knife in his hand, or on his hip. :D Oh, you can't use that either, that one is mine.

Must be 18 to win, must be able to legally own a knife, you are responsible for yourself, neither BFC, Kabar, or me are responsible for you and your actions. If you can't pay for it, don't break it.

No chatting in this thread.

Open contest, anyone can play.

Contest runs until Sunday night, at Midnight

Make me laff, make OKB (OFFICIAL_KA-BAR) laff, make us all laff, and you might win,

Lets see what you got.

I am so damn tempted to do something with that little angry dude in the brown uniform. But maybe I shouldn't :D

I'm in!

SWEET, finally a contest that I can participate in!

I'll update this post on Friday night most likely with an epic photoshop

I've been wanting a chopper for a while, and this is my chance!

EDIT:

First, starting farthest back in history.

Julius Caesar was in fact stabbed not by just any knife, but by a KaBar Navy MK1. This has been disputed and doubted by scholars for years, but recent evidence (this photo) has quelled the naysayers fears. The fact that it was from hundreds of years later notwithstanding.

Scholars also are impressed with the physical condition of the photo, despite its age.

Also, Moose previously noted that George Washington carried his beloved KaBar across the Delaware River. What he didn't mention is that his KaBar Fighter/Utility knife was actually a boyhood gift from his father. Contrary to popular belief this KaBar was what he used to chop down his fathers Cherry tree when he was a child. To avoid giving a good American company a bad reputation for rampant cherry tree destruction, the story was later changed to include a generic "hatchet", instead of the sturdy KaBar.

Experts also agree that young George most likely was practicing his batoning when the incident occurred.

Also, it is worth noting that the great American explorers Lewis and Clark carried KaBar knives on their expedition through the American frontier. Not surprisingly, Lewis apparently preferred the leather handled version over the Kraton handled knife.

Most casual history nerds would agree that it was likely because he thought it matched his outfit better than the black one. *Caution - they've been known to be wrong before.

And finally, this one was just for fun, and just because Guyon requested it in the Kabar group name, naming thread.

And also, just for future reference, reconstructing the part of someones leg that has been obstructed by something with photoshop (in my case, GiMP) is not super easy.

Apparently Aaaanold seems to prefer the KaBar Big Brother, and interestingly enough, he seems to be dual wielding them.

And thanks again for the chance at this knife moose, its the first one that I can really qualify for. And also, I might upload a few more to this post sometime this weekend if I have time, mostly because I actually love photoshopping things, and this has gotten me back into doing this. We'll see what happens.

Heck yeah! I assume "a Kabar Knife of any make" includes the mighty Kabar Becker BK2. Accordingly...

I just stumbled across this contest and had no notion of entering.

Oh well, that notion went straight out the window. :ambivalence:

I just updated my first post with my "epic 'shops", and just wanted to bump the thread.

And once again, thanks for the competition, its been lots of fun so far (I might upload a few more if I have time later on this week).

Midnight tonight, get those chops in, before the clock rings 12, and all your computers turn into pumpkins. :D

Moose, I don't have the imagination or the talent that these folks have but I want to thank you for this contest. These are some of the best chops I've ever seen. Great idea from you and incredible chops from them.
Congrats to whomever takes the prize. I'm glad I don't have to pick the winner.

Great work guys, I love each and everyone of them. :D

But, there was one that I kept coming back to, everytime I opened the thread,

Seamless chop, well done, and seemed to capture, something special. Anyways, its my favorite, so it wins.

Email me, and put Chop Contest in the title, Tahts, I'll be lookin' for it.

Great work, get ready, there will be another contest up soon. :D

Wow!!

Gotta run out and buy some lottery tickets - it seems my luck has changed.

Thanks for the great contest: it was a lot of fun participating and the entries were great (I really enjoyed seeing what you guys came up with).

Thanks Moose and thanks to those who participated.
