Decided to bowhunt this morning, even though the rifle hunters started today, and managed to take the buck I've been after. Used my BK16 to clean him, and loved it. Here are some BK16/Skystorm/Buck glamour shots. :)

It did great. The blade is a little longer than what I usually use, but it's so "ergonomic" that I never had an issue. Blade control is great on this knife, I think.

Nice rack.

Thanks, man. I've been watching this guy for two years. I passed him last year, thinking he might turn into something, and I'm glad I did.

I liked using the 16 enough that I've decided to do the final butchering using the 16, and just the 16. I typically use several knives I have for this purpose, but I'm going to see how the Becker does. Not a huge test, but I'm picky with my cuts, so there's a lot of trimming, filleting, and cutting involved. I normally dull a blade, and have to use another before the task is done. We'll see how it goes, but I imagine it will go fine.

I already skinned and quartered him, with the quarters sitting in an ice chest. The final cutting and wrapping will take place tonight. Never ignore the chance to use your Becker. :)

That's a nice one, for sure! It's got to be extra gratifying, knowing your did your homework and bagged him amidst the rifle hunters!

Dang nice buck!
Used my 16 to skin and clean a doe last week.
I actually got the knife with that as the main purpose and it did not disappoint.
