Made some sausage out of the pig today. Decided to make an all time classic.
 
I think my arteries clogged up a bit just looking at that:eek: , need a big mound of cheese on those eggs though. I'm hungry for breakfast food...
 
yup... that looks good, California can do a lot of things... finding a place that makes biscuits and gravy that is actually edible isnt one of them...edible and tastes good, I've had no luck.
 
If my wife hadn't already made dinner I'd be askin' for some of that. Damn I wish it was six a.m. already. :D
 
Benton's, eggs and gravy and biscuits........Thats a GBGB for sure mmmmmmmmmm.........mmmmmmmmmm.....

What ingredients do you use in your gravy? I've had the misfortune of ordering the biscuits and gravy at Cracker Barrel and was treated to a lump of chunky grey stuff.
 
Take some bacon or sausage grease.
Cover with flour and keep moving the flour till it's browned.
Add milk and keep the gravy moving. Keep adding milk until desired consistency.
You can thin it with milk as much as you want. Add sausage chunks, salt, pepper.

That's what I do.
 
Ugh...that looks fan-freaking-tastic. My favorite greasy spoon stopped making this and I'm usually took lazy in the morning to accomplish this one. Thanks for prompting the cravings! :D

I brown a little sausage in a sauce pan. I remove the sausage from the pan and leave the grease. I add 1/4 cup flour and stir. Then I add 2 cups of milk. Bring to a simmer. It will thicken. Add a little pepper and salt to taste. Add the sausage back in. Viola!

I made a video of my method a year or so ago. Sausage gravy starts at about 3:30.
