Alright, here's my Becker BK-11 CSM after sanding with 400 Grit for the past three and a half hours (3.5hrs) by hand.

My hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders are aching for lack of a better word. The work in progress on this Necker continues.

Great work- Mine has the polished finish, and I really like it. The handles also add a lot to the knife.

It appears as if you are rounding the butt of the knife. If you lift the sanding block at the end of the stroke that will not happen. Sorry if I come off as rude or abrasive, that is not my intention.:o

Looking good so far.

spine to belly is the hard way. sanding lengthwise is way easier, and keeps the sanding block aligned.
start at 45deg to your final finish direction.
then go 90deg to that.
back and forth on those two angles until the lengthwise (or cross-knife) scratches are gone.
then go lengthwise to clean up the diagonal scratches.
When the diagonal scratches are gone, go up a grit and repeat on the diagonals.
This is how you know you've completed a grit. Also, it's more efficient from an abrasive standpoint to switch directions each past.

Keep on trucking, and be careful! I always say, the 11 CSM has an edge sharper than the Devil's tongue.

What is the plan for it?
I was thinking about something that I saw, but will have to plan carefully were I to embark on that project since I've no experience whatsoever were I to do that.

Thats what Im thinking. High polish?
My first thought. Possibly for now.

I'd say they do.

It does appear that way, but I think that when I received this knife it was already somewhat "rounded" in that section. Hopefully I didn't increase that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for that advice. I'll incorporate it!

I wrapped some paper much like the cardboard blade protector it came with and thanks!
