So i was looking at the Becker bk 16 as a backup knife for bushcrafty purposes (It doesn't have to excell at bushcraft but if it does thats better). I have seen videos on it and like the looks but i want your opinions.
Doesn't have to be a backup for bushcrafty stuff. It does great in the main role. So does the 17. It's plenty big enough to handle everything but chopping. If you have a chopper, a 16, and maybe an sak you're set for anything you'd need to cut out in the wilds. Pretty much....
I think it would be a fine camp knife. Splitting kindling, cutting tent guy lines, hunting... maybe not the absolute best choice for every one of these tasks, but a good do-everything solution.
bk16 is solid. I carry it more than any other fixed blade I have when camping. The sheath is excellent, allows you to also carry a sharpening stone or multitool.
