I posted in May of 2002 about my BK-7 being used to save my bridge from being washed away by floods and branches well... About 2 wks ago we had another flood and this one caused bad slips and a lot of trees were uprooted on the banks. A large root system got lodged under my bridge and was putting pressure on the boards and beams. Several of the roots had caught and we tried to use poles to move the tree but nothing happened. I had my pack and my BK-7 in it. I didn't have much room to swing but just enough to get some good hits with the sharp edge. After about 5 min. the root began to move a little. Another root had caught. Five more minutes of chopping and the thing started to move with the current. The boards were popping but finally the system moved on.

The BK-7 stayed secure in my hand, even when wet, and the blade was still sharp after I was done. This is one knife that if you own you need to get it out and use it. Once again Thanks to Becker and Camillus for a great knife.

Can someone post a link to the original thread? Couldn't fiind it in search

baber,

Do a search in this forum for bridge and it will be down a few. It's about the same story.

If I lost my BK-7 tomorrow I would place an order the next day for a replacement BK-7. I've used this knife a lot and it is a lot more versitile than it seems. With my Vic trailmaster and other items it the sheath pocket This becomes a Do All Package. I keep buying knives but I keep using my BK-7. Sounds corney but it's true. ;)
