I received my BK1 a few days ago and had a chance to test drive it out in the woods for a while yesterday. Nothing real intense, just a little chopping, cutting and splitting. Very nice. I started searching around for a reasonably priced heavy duty knife for camp chores and after reading review after review I decided to by this one. I am very satisfied and am really looking forward to getting out and camping with it. Thanks to everyone that has written reviews on the knifes they bought. I'm sure you know, but be aware that there are people out there who read them and value your opinions.

Congrats on your purchase. Personally I love mine. With its heft, durability, and great price I don't feel the slightest bit guilty beatig the hell out of it. My only beef was with the sheath as the beltloop snapped of it for almost no reason at all. They said they'd be glad to replace it if I sent in the old one, but I decided to just make some mods to the unbroken piece until I can make my own custom kydex one. After finally killing the factory edge on it I went to town on it reprofiling and realigning the edge with a coars stone before convexing iton a strop. In addition to the edge I recently removed the factory handle and did my own custom cordwrap handle on it using flourescant yellow 3mm nylon cord with black chord running horizontally to thicken it up the spine area of the handle. The original handle was fine, just a bit slick. In addition to added grip, the yellow chord makes it easy to find in the dark. Anyway, have fun.

Great Knife! I have already ordered one a nd it is coming next month from US. Really hope the strikes in US will not affect the quality of the knive! REally glad to hear that someone in here also has the knive! Do tell us more about the knive!

I like the knife. Haven't hammered it with a piece of wood to split yet. I am wondering if anyone has changed the angle on the blade and if it is even advisable. Any information would be of interest.

Thanks,
KR

Mine has about a 25 degree gring on each side prior to being convexed and it seems to work quite well. Thought about going down a bit lower but not willing to do the work since i like it as it is. Not sure about anyone else though. Good luck to you.

Finally got a chance to split some wood with the Becker. Hammered it several times and it just sliced through the wood with no problem. Had trouble because several times I would try to bury the knife into the wood and it sliced right through. :D

I can't wait to take this on a camping trip.

good knife, good design, good steel, and good deal. What more can you say.

I found the Brute to be a great all around camping knife , chopper , tool . But for smaller work such as skinning or detail cutting the Brute was just to big. So, I incorporated the BK11 - "becker necker" . The combo is perfect for me and all my camping or outdoor chores.

Combo Setup

Fastened near the bottom is a fire starting steel and just above is a quick release leg strap

BK11 is held down by paracord. The BK11's handle is wraped with 80lb.test nylon fishing line and red electrical tape for visibility-for throwing.

The belt loop has been modified with a blackhawk quick release "molle" buckle.

May I add a combo set like this is not to expensive to put together .

Nice arrangement and I like the setup. I use my EDC knifes, in particular my dragonfly for this but I do like your setup.
